On October 19th, students were given the opportunity to engage in activities and learn from speakers about college. Students created posters with college logos for College Day speakers to celebrate their success and make them feel at home here at Bridges Academy. Teacher wore college gear and shared memorabilia from their alma mater. 

Presenters like Anthony Cruz who spoke in Mrs. Lyman's music class, shared how they dealt with challenges and succeeded in preparing for college, graduating, and moving on to successful careers.

 Some presenters were actual Bridges Academy graduates! Students commented that they could see themselves taking on the challenges of preparing and succeeding in college, and thrive in a fulfilling and successful career, just like our College Day mentors. 

Students also engaged in a variety of activities to help them investigate college including:

- Budgeting and finding a career to support that budget with their Chromebook computers.

- Researching careers in the Sciences. 

- Investigating types of colleges and requirements for attending the colleges.

- Extracurricular activities, college students talking about their experiences.

- Learning college vocabulary and playing games after to learn the new words.
