A large number of students joined the race and other students cheered on the racers as they competed. We had a total of four racing groups. The girls 7th and 8th grade classes and boys 7th and 8th grade classes competed separately. The top three winners in each category received prizes and a full, large holiday turkey. Each race participant earned a medallion for completing the race. Several runners raced competitively to try and win a prize and glory of placing first. Other runners participated for fun and to have a good time with peers and friends. All race participants got to have a good time and engage in promoting healthy exercise and camaraderie.
